After a long layoff, concerts are making their way back in full force. Tucson indie music fans can rejoice with Luna Luna announcing their Flower Moon Tour and a stop in on December 7th

Luna Luna is an all-Hispanic band from the neighborhood of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas. The group was co-founded by lead vocalist Kavvi (vocals/producer) and Gilbert Avila (producer/engineer/keys) and features Kaylin Martínez (drums) and Ryan Gordon (bass).

Their sound could be described as a unique dreamy retro sound reminiscent of ’80s high school dances. Filled with synths and croony vocals, Luna Luna is a band that has quickly skyrocketed up the Latinx indie charts.

If you were to compare them to more prominent bands their sound has influences of Tame Impala and Mac Demarco but with their latest releases, Luna Luna is beginning to create their style.

One of the band’s latest singles is “Time”. The track was completed during the heigh of the quarantine and according to the band the song is about “how you want time to go by quickly when you are not enjoying the moment and how you want time to stand still when you are in love with the moment”. Luna Luna will be playing at Hotel Congress on December 7th.
